<세션 소개문>

한류로 대표되는 K-컬처는 이제 단순한 문화 현상을 넘어, 세계가 한국의 정체성과 감수성을 주목하는 글로벌 담론의 장으로 확장되고 있다. 이러한 흐름 속에서 ‘K-인문’은 K-컬처의 뿌리이자 그 사유의 확장으로, 한국이 지닌 전통과 현대적 해석을 바탕으로 인간과 사회, 그리고 세계를 조화롭게 이해하려는 한국 정신문화의 유산으로 제시된다.

본 세션은 극단화되고 충돌하는 현대사회에서 K-인문의 관점을 통해 청년 세대가 잊지 말아야 할 ‘균형과 조화’의 의미를 재조명한다.

K-컬처를 활용한 지역경제 활성화 방안 모색, 도시소멸 문제를 극복하기 위한 국제 사례 분석, 신냉전 체제 속 한국의 전략적 대응, 그리고 초국가적 사회에서 새롭게 형성되는

‘우리(Uri)’ 가치의 재정립 등 서로 다른 주제를 다루지만, 모두 인문적 실천이라는 공통의 문제의식을 공유한다. 더 나아가 한국 사회의 다문화 공존 방안을 모색하고,

‘한(恨)’과 ‘흥(興)’이라는 정서적 가치의 현대적 의미를 체계적으로 탐구하여 K-인문의 본질적 가치를 재확인하고자 한다.

청년들은 불확실한 시대 속에서도 스스로의 언어로 세계와 대화하며, 문화와 경제, 공동체를 아우르는 새로운 인문학의 담론을 제시한다.

이를 통해 K-인문은 단지 한국의 문화 담론을 넘어, 균형과 조화를 바탕으로 인간다운 삶을 모색하는 인문학적 비전으로 확장 해 본다.

K-Humanities: Reinterpreting Balance and Harmony in a Changing World

K-Culture, represented globally by the Korean Wave (Hallyu), has evolved beyond a cultural phenomenon into a global discourse space where the world takes notice of Korea’s identity, sensibility, and creative philosophy. Within this context, K-Humanities emerges as both the root and extension of K-Culture—a legacy of Korean spiritual culture that seeks a harmonious understanding of humanity, society, and the world through the interplay of tradition and modern interpretation.

This session revisits the meaning of “balance and harmony”—values the younger generation must not forget in an era marked by polarization and conflict—through the lens of K-Humanities. The discussion encompasses diverse yet interconnected themes:

strategies for revitalizing regional economies through K-Culture, international case studies on overcoming urban decline, Korea’s strategic response within a new geopolitical order, and the redefinition of Uri (우리) — the collective “we” — in an increasingly transnational society.

Though varied in focus, these topics share a common concern: the practical application of humanistic values. Furthermore, the session explores ways to foster multicultural coexistence within Korean society and examines the modern significance of the emotional values of Han (sorrow) and Heung (vital joy), reaffirming the essential spirit of K-Humanities.

Amid uncertainty, today’s youth engage the world in their own voice, articulating a new humanistic discourse that bridges culture, economy, and community. In doing so, K-Humanities expands beyond a national framework, offering a vision of the humanities that seeks a truly human life grounded in balance and harmony.
